THE MASK

The video provided is of the zooming in a fractal. This was chosen, because it was
thought that the self-similarity of the fractal, which the video demonstrates, complements the
message of the text, which is that pandemic life was bland, and that every particular minute,
hour, day, week, and month during the pandemic, felt much like every hour, day, week, and
month; and that despite the fact that time passes during the pandemic, one never feels as though
one is going anywhere; so with the fractal, although one is always zooming in, the fractal always
looks the same. Another factor, influencing my construction of the video is that I am a
mathematics major and I wanted to incorporate something from my discipline.
